Working closely with Jigsaw Homes. We created 18 x 2 and 1 bedroom apartments to the required specifications for affordable housing.

Project Portfolio: The creation of 18 x 2 and 1-Bedroom Apartments for Affordable Housing.
Project Overview
In this highly impactful project, we developed 18 high-quality apartments, consisting of both 2-bedroom and 1-bedroom units, designed specifically to meet the growing demand for affordable housing in the community. The apartments were created with a focus on providing safe, sustainable, and accessible homes for individuals and families who are in need of affordable accommodation. Each unit was built to the required local authority specifications, ensuring they meet the needs of low-income residents while offering a modern, comfortable, and supportive living environment.
Key Project Features:
Community Integration and Local Impact
The project was designed with the aim of integrating into the local community
Design and Layout
The design of the development focused on maximizing space and functionality for residents, ensuring that each apartment provides a comfortable living experience within an affordable budget. The layout includes:
18 Apartments: Comprising 12 x 1-bedroom apartments and 6 x 2-bedroom apartments, designed to accommodate single residents, couples, and small families.
Open-Plan Living: Each apartment features a well-designed open-plan living space, combining kitchen, dining, and lounge areas to promote a modern, flexible lifestyle.
Private and Communal Spaces: The design balances private living spaces with communal areas that encourage social interaction and community building. These spaces include shared outdoor areas, landscaped gardens, and seating areas.
Affordable Housing Specifications
The apartments were constructed according to the required local authority specifications for affordable housing, ensuring they meet all relevant regulations and standards. This includes:
Energy Efficiency: The apartments were designed with an emphasis on energy efficiency, including high-quality insulation, double-glazed windows, and energy-efficient lighting and appliances. These features help reduce utility costs for residents, contributing to long-term affordability.
Sustainability: Sustainable building materials and energy-saving technologies were incorporated into the development, ensuring that the project not only meets current housing demands but also minimizes its environmental footprint.
Safety and Accessibility: The design also prioritized the safety and accessibility of all apartments, incorporating features like wide doorways, easy-to-navigate hallways, and ground-floor units for individuals with mobility challenges. The development complies with all relevant safety standards, including fire safety regulations and emergency escape routes.
High-Quality Construction Materials
To ensure the longevity and durability of the development, we used high-quality construction materials that are both cost-effective and environmentally sustainable. The development includes:
Modern Fixtures and Finishes: Each apartment featured modern, durable fixtures and finishes, including fitted kitchens, energy-efficient appliances, and contemporary bathroom fittings.
External Finishes: The exterior of the building was designed to blend with the surrounding area while maintaining a modern aesthetic. Materials were chosen for their resilience to Manchester’s climate, ensuring the development will remain low-maintenance over time.
Sustainability and Environmental Considerations
In line with our commitment to sustainability, this development incorporates several eco-friendly features:
Energy-Efficient Systems: The apartments are fitted with energy-efficient heating and hot water systems, reducing energy consumption and lowering residents’ bills.
Water Conservation: Low-flow faucets and energy-efficient appliances help to reduce water usage, making the apartments more sustainable and affordable to run.
Renewable Energy: Where feasible, renewable energy solutions were incorporated into the project to further reduce the environmental impact and provide residents with more affordable energy sources.
